Employers can immediately tell when a cover letter has been copy-pasted. To tailor yours:

• Re-read the job advert and highlight the 3-4 most important requirements
• Make sure your cover letter directly addresses each one, using similar language to the advert itself
• Mention the organization by name never write “Dear Sir/Madam” if you can find the actual hiring manager’s name (check the advert, company website, or LinkedIn)
